Look no further here’s 10 podcasts to take you from feeling down and out to flying high
This is short and sweet because I know that when I’m in a funk the last thing I can do is wade through detailed and long-winded articles. So, it’s all good, I’ve got you covered.
In this short post I’m sharing with you my top 10 go to inspirational and motivational podcasts to listen to lay in bed or out on the move. And, in a maximum of two sentences I’ll share with you why they’re great. I’m also putting a link straight to them online. Easy right, OK let’s go!
· Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday’s podcast
It’s Oprah, being Oprah. Plus thoughtful, powerful and deep conversations with others. Enough said.
· The Life Coach School podcast by Brooke Castillo
A straight talking life coach who’s taken her own journey and used it to build her own empire. She’s open about ambition, the joy of money and believes in what’s possible.
· Mindset Mentor by Rob Dial
I love the short, twenty or so minute episodes on all thing mindset improvement. It’s upbeat, focused and full of advice, practical tips and positive energy.
· Women on Top
Honest and real conversations with women who are launching, or have launched their own ideas into businesses. It’s encouraging to hear other women taking similar paths to independence.
· WSJ Secrets of
Another level, these are women who have largely established and newspaper worthy careers. It’s great to hear their stories of their careers, triumphs and challenges in their words.
· Women of Impact
There’s a real focus from Lisa here on empowering women to become the hero in our own lives. So there’s a focus on impactful topics like money and change to really go deep into how we can all be the best version of ourselves.
· On Purpose by Jay Shetty
Having spent his early twenties training as a monk and his late twenties living the corporate life Jay has a grasp of the depth of life and the challenges we face. He also believes in power of the mindfulness and wisdom to help each of us find our purpose.
· Desert Island Discs
Now hosted by Lauren Laverne this seriously long running show is essentially an hour long therapy session for the interviewee as they talk through the 8 tracks they’d take with them if they were stranded on a desert island. Hearing people’s stories, experiences, choices and challenges and dreams is immensely inspiring to me; everyone from David Attenborough to Tom Hanks has made an appearance!
· Unlocking Us by Brene Brown
Having gone viral with a Ted Talk all about her vulnerability and shame research Brene has kind of taken over the world. Now with a relatively new podcast she tackles some of the big issues and ideas and relies heavily on her nearly thirty years as a shame and vulnerability researcher to underpin her ideas.
· Rachel Haynes Stands up for the Classics
Ok, this is a little left field, but stay with me. The classics have been around for thousands of years and have been rewritten by everyone from Shakespeare to those 90’s films like 10 thing I hate about you. Rachel Haynes is able to make them all both accessible, relevant and very funny – and it can be really comforting to know humanity, in many ways, just hasn’t changed all that much – kind of.
Ok, that’s your lot from me – I promised it’d be short and sweet. Get listening, get motivated and get yourself feeling like if you can’t take on the world just yet, you’ll be able to after a podcast, a cuppa and a chocolate biscuit.
